New Otto Adaptive Subwoofer Joins EAW’s Adaptive Performance Series

We are pleased to announce the debut of our Otto Adaptive Subwoofer, the first subwoofer in the Adaptive Performance Series that’s headlined by the award-winning Anya 3-way full-range loudspeaker system.

Loaded with two 18-inch woofers – with acoustic energy exiting from four spaced apertures in the corners of the enclosure – each Otto module provides more than enough LF energy for even the most demanding music genres. With an amazing output of 131 dB (1 meter, continuous, full-space) bolstered by response that extends all the way down to 22 Hz (-10 dB), Otto sets a new standard in low frequency power and output.

As with the groundbreaking Anya full-range modules, each Otto transducer is separately powered and processed, allowing multiple directivity patterns to be created from a single module. Also like Anya, Otto modules can readily be combined in arrays to provide increased pattern control and output.

The result is tremendous sub bass energy delivered where users want it – and not where they don’t. With system coverage and output characteristics that can be easily changed in real time without moving or changing the set-up, Otto subwoofers are amazingly adaptive to any sized venue.

The technology behind EAW’s new subwoofer is unmatched in the industry. Each module is engineered to generate any three-dimensional wavefront surface and determine the processing needed to achieve optimum coverage and tonal balance for the specific application. Specifically, EAW Resolution software generates DSP parameters to simultaneously adapt the complex 3D wavefront surface and optimize frequency response to perfectly match the requirements of any venue in minutes.

EAW provides the Otto G24 package as a building block for premier touring systems that demand flexibility, versatility and incredible low end sonic output. The G24 package supports two single columns, each with 12 Otto modules, that can be suspended from a single flybar. The columns are joined by distribution racks flown adjacent to the flybar of each array as well as full network redundancy in the form of primary and secondary networks connected to each module.

Cabling for the distro rack is provided in the form of four power looms to power the top six modules in an array, two loom extenders to drive the bottom six modules in an array, and four short and long network looms for networking the array modules.

For extended array configurations, a G24 package can be subdivided into multiple columns per array with the addition of supplemental flybars and cabling. It can also be easily configured for groundstack use or loaded on the included wheeled dollies. Module weight of just 215 pounds and a nominal width/depth of less than 32 inches further eases transport and configuration.

Even when used independent of Anya, Otto provides a compelling acoustic solution. Advances in driver and electronics technology allow it to deliver equal or better output and extension as compared in comparison to other 2 x 18-inch subwoofers on the market.
