The NT Series defies the conventional wisdom that PA loudspeakers can never sound as good as premium direct-radiating studio monitors. Combining EAW’s superior loudspeaker design techniques with revolutionary Gunness Focusing digital processing technology, every model comfortably reaches larger audiences with power, dynamics and impact – and with an uncompromising natural sonic quality.
As a result, the NT Series is an ideal choice for mains, monitors and delays in a wide range of portable and permanent applications, including live theatre, corporate AV, houses of worship, schools, gymnasiums, auditoriums, clubs and band PA.
Four full-range, self-powered loudspeakers are available with a choice of 60-degree and 90-degree MF/HF horizontal dispersion as well as 12-inch and 15-inch LF configurations. Compact enclosures with angled sides facilitate arraying, also serving well for low-profile stage monitors. The companion NTS22 self-powered subwoofer, dual 12-inch-loaded, uses a push-pull design to minimize distortion.
EAW’s landmark Gunness Focusing technology employs sophisticated, custom DSP algorithms that correct loudspeaker response anomalies, eliminating the time smear, horn "honk" and LF cone resonances that plague conventional systems.
Response is so flat - and distortion so low - that even the most subtle EQ adjustments are immediately audible, while extraordinarily high gain-before-feedback and prodigious peak output capability convey all the power of live performance. In fact, Gunness Focusing is so effective that it’s now been made available for an ever-growing stable of premium EAW loudspeakers via the UX8800 digital processor.

NT Series loudspeakers incorporate highly efficient, field-replaceable digital amplifier modules that are perfectly aligned with the DSP. Onboard DIP switches configure the processing for specific NT models.
Full-range models include a high-pass filter switch for crossover to the subwoofer or to minimize proximity effect in voice reinforcement, and a mode switch to compensate for
half-space loading. The subwoofer amp module includes a fixed low-pass filter as well as separate gain and polarity switches to optimize crossover to the full-range units.
Rear-panel LED's indicate signal presence, amplifier status, limiting and clipping, with excursion limiters protecting the loudspeaker components and assuring maximum output capability.
Intelligent power supply controls afford optimum efficiency with superior immunity from AC line variations, and self-resetting protection circuitry guards against output overload, overheating, power supply faults, and excess output current. Convection cooling eliminates the need for noisy fans, and the electronic design is so efficient that the 1,500-watt amplifier package (2,000 watts for the NTS22 sub) weighs just 9 pounds.
NT Series drivers feature EAW’s Orbital Magnet Array technology. Capitalizing on the many advantages of neodymium magnets, the innovative technique employs a number of small individual magnets distributed around the voice coil gap. This produces a magnet structure that performs better than conventional designs.

There’s an added bonus to the Orbital Magnet approach: gaps that provide for cooling air circulation around the voice coil. The result is vastly improved continuous power handling and extended long-term reliability, with far greater efficiency than ferrous magnets.
NT Series enclosures employ complex, innovative joinery, and in tandem with carefully controlled enclosure geometry, these joints offer superior strength while eliminating the heavy internal bracing and reinforcing cleats that simpler joints require. Other innovations in cabinet design further reduce weight while fully preserving strength.
A comprehensive set of mounting and rigging options (integral flytrack, pole cup mount) complete the package, providing the flexibility to handle every venue with ease. The subwoofer, outfitted with its own reinforced mount, serves as an ideal base for pole-mounted NT Series full-range systems. And, all cabinets offer ergonomically balanced carrying handles.
The NT Series stands at the technological forefront of sound reinforcement, a standard by which all other portable loudspeakers are judged.
