AC6 In Production

Trusted partners Revelation Productions (Worcester, MA) and Ice 9 Productions (Wakefield, MA) joined a candid panel discussion on the real-world impact of the AC6 ADAPTive Column Loudspeaker in production environments.

Moderated by Nick DeLaCruz (Host, This is DeLaCruz) the conversation featured Anthony D’Elia (President, Revelation Productions), Chaz Loews (COO and Co-Founder, Ice 9) and Anthony Santoro (Senior Audio Systems Engineer, Ice 9), who shared how the AC6 has become a go-to solution for high-end corporate AV thanks to its sleek design, unmatched flexibility, and superior acoustic performance.

For both companies, the decision to invest in ADAPTive technology wasn’t just about sound. It was about efficiency, flexibility, and ease of use for production companies.

Revelation and Ice 9 specialize in corporate AV conferences, commencements, galas, fundraisers and upscale private events which require equipment that delivers full range sound and even coverage, while blending seamlessly into highly curated environments. For them, AC6 checked all the boxes.

Ice 9 was inspired to purchase 12 AC6 following their stellar experience with Anna and Otto ADAPTive systems. Revelation entered the EAW universe through the Radius line, which later lead them to welcome AC6 to their production family. “We started adopting the AC6 as soon as it came out”, explained Anthony D’Elia, President of Revelation Productions. “So since then, we now own 14 boxes. We’re going to have 16 soon”.

What really stood out in the conversation was how AC6 enhances the deployment experience while offering consistent, high-quality results. “It was a small gala, just one stick per side,” said D’Elia, recalling their first deployment of AC6. “Coverage was amazing, and it was simple to dial in.” Furthermore, Revelation highlighted how the software’s built-in flexibility helps both seasoned engineers and newcomers. “We’ve had engineers go to the back of the box, set the near and far limits, and be done – without ever needing to open Resolution”.

For larger productions, such as a 10,000-person fundraiser tent, Ice 9 turned to AC6 paired with Otto subwoofers. Despite initial hesitation from engineers about using column speakers for live music, the system delivered, receiving high praise.

Perhaps the most consistent praise was reserved for the ADAPTive platform’s ability to evolve and blend seamlessly into any environment. “All the software is built into the hardware, so it’s able to be expanded as it goes on,” D’Elia explained.

When asked if the AC6 can compete with the rider approved big names, both companies agreed: yes, but it takes a demo to prove it. Conversation and technical training can only go so far when the client is the one making the big decisions. “We’re not selling a speaker; we’re selling an experience,” said Santoro. “[Demos] are the best way to do that”.

The AC6 has proven itself to be a versatile, visually discreet, and powerful tool for today’s high-end production demands. From simplifying logistics to elevating the audience’s experience, it’s more than a loudspeaker – it’s a solution. Whether you’re a production company, integrator, or consultant, the message is clear: get it in the room, hear it in action, and experience what ADAPTive can really do.
