The MW Series or MicroWedge line coaxial, two-way stage monitor systems deliver high output for maximum gain before feedback. Created by concert touring veteran Dave Rat and EAW, these monitors are impressive for their size.
Concert touring veteran Dave Rat of Rat Sound, and our engineers at EAW got together to design and build a monitor that would deliver powerful performance and rugged reliability. As Dave Rat says, “Stage monitors are the rental cars of pro audio.”
The MicroWedge line coaxial, two-way stage monitor systems deliver high output for maximum gain before feedback. The Series includes versions with 15-in, 12-in, 10-in and 8-in low frequency drivers as well as a matching Microsub subwoofer for drum fill.
The MW series is suitable for both touring and installed sound. It is perfectly suited to mobile production applications like concert touring or large corporate AV events as well as permanent installation applications that include a live music component, such as houses of worship that feature high-energy worship leaders, performing arts centers or live music clubs.

Core technologies featured in the Redline RL Series include:
Symmetrical arrangement of acoustic sources along a common axis for utmost consistency throughout the coverage pattern.
Use of advanced digital signal processing to perfect impulse response of a loudspeaker in the time domain. Eliminating horn “honk” and splashiness, the loudspeaker sounds more like a studio monitor than a “PA” speaker.
Built ‘from the ground up,’ the MW Series solves many problems inherent in stage monitors that are merely extensions of a main channel technology platform. For this reason, the MW Series delivers substantially more gain before feedback compared to traditional stage monitor systems. When users power the MW15 and MW12 in biamplified mode using UX Series processing or approved, DSP-enabled amplifiers, users may select from three EQ settings designed by Dave Rat and color coded as White, Grey and Blue.
MicroWedge MW15 monitors are processor enhanced (rather than processor dependant) for true “plug and play” operation. User selectable single-amp and bi-amp modes are provided. The large port on the front of the cabinet enhances LF response in coupling with the floor, and this port houses both the carrying handle and the passive/active mode switch. The port also contains dual input connectors, keeping them concealed and protected, and allowing wedges to be placed as close together as desired.
For applications that require enhanced performance the MicroWedge Series can be optimized using the EAW digital signal processors.
Every EAW product series works seamlessly with our array of software applications designed to make installation easier and sound optimization a more exact science.
EAW Resolution 2, for example, is a powerful and easy-to-use simulation software that accurately predicts the performance of multiple arrays within a venue. Driven by EAW’s proprietary F-Chart acoustics modeling software, Resolution is more accurate and powerful than previous generations of software by utilizing measured 3D acoustic data.
Output levels are displayed by varying color using a variety of methods, including 1/3-octave and broadband SPL, A and C weighted. The actual frequency response at any point in a venue can also be viewed. User-defined environmental conditions, specifically temperature and humidity, are factored into these calculations.
EAW’s proprietary Resolution 2 modeling software allows you to accurately predict performance and optimize multiple arrays.
